I am always annoyed by the term “industry leaders” as it is applied to those few people who speak for the franchises or national companies. They are no doubt very nice people and good at what they do, as are most others who have lasted for any length of time in our business.  For us to presume they speak for all the members of their organization as if they were 'lock step' behind them is as realistic as believing the heads of the tobacco companies when they asserted
nicotine is not habit forming.

The term “industry leader” should only apply to the directors of CREA, provincial associations and local boards. They have been elected to speak on our behalf and they speak for the entire industry, not a very narrow segment of it.
