Two Ontario
real estate boards — the Perth County Real Estate Board and Huron Real Estate
Board — consolidated their operations March 1 to form the new Huron Perth Real
Estate Board (HPREB).

“The creation of the Huron Perth Real Estate Board will
result in new strength and respect among our peers, our local politicians and
the general public. This merger is an exciting opportunity for the future of
every Realtor in this area,” says Brian Wilhelm, president of the new
board.

Approved by a membership vote in November 2000, the combined
membership of HPREB includes more than 240 Realtors. The board is headquartered
in Stratford, Ont. at the same location as the
Perth County Real Estate Board, and services Realtors in Stratford, Goderich, Listowel and all areas
in between.

Reid Dundas, vice-president of the new board, says:
“The merger is an opportunity to eliminate the duplication of services and
to streamline the operations of the two neighbouring boards.”

The Perth County Real Estate Board was organized in 1963;
Huron Real Estate Board was founded in 1976.
