The decision brings together members of the Association of Saskatchewan Realtors (ASR), Association of Regina Realtors (ARR) and Saskatoon Region Association of Realtors (SRAR). The new entity will be called Saskatchewan Realtors Association.
"The Humboldt Bronco’s tragedy touched us all in some way," says Bill Madder, CEO of the ASR. "We felt giving to the Humboldt’s First Responders Fund was a way we could assist these every-day heroes, long term."
A move to dissolve Saskatchewan’s real estate boards and provincial association with an eye toward forming a single organization has failed to pass after it did not receive the required two-thirds approval from the voting groups.
Saskatchewan is on the cusp of amalgamating three of its real estate boards, and if successful, it will provide its members with superior services, says the chair of the Rationalization Taskforce, Kevin Wouters.
