Bill Harrington, general counsel at CREA, recently announced that he will retire in April. Harrington is known for his appearances at real estate board conferences and events to explain recent legal issues to members.
Michael Bourque, CEO of the Canadian Real Estate Association, doesn’t like the term “organized real estate”. He says the staff at CREA’s Ottawa offices no longer use it, because they know he doesn’t like it.

Realtor.ca is adding school catchment information for consumers looking at property listings on the site. The information will roll out nationally in phases, with 80 per cent of school boards in Canada by September.
Starting today, Local Logic is partnering with CREA to provide property-specific neighbourhood data for Realtor.ca. The company says it collects and shares location characteristics to assist prospective buyers.
Online classified website Kijiji has joined the Realtor.ca Data Distribution Facility (DDF) Network. CREA’s DDF allows brokerages that have opted-in to the service to distribute their listings to Kijiji and other websites.
CREA and the Association of Saskatchewan Realtors (ASR) are partnering with third-party customer satisfaction firm RealSatisfied on a limited test pilot of syndication of real estate agent reviews to Realtor.ca.
