The Toronto Real Estate Board reports that Maurice Stanley Lamond, a Realtor for over 50 years, passed away suddenly on December 26, 2003.

Maurice was born in Dunbartonshire, Scotland, in 1926, and immigrated to Montreal with his family six years later. After positions with Coca-Cola and as a caterer in a wholesale food terminal at Yonge and Esplanade, he took up the profession of Realtor in the early 1950s, joining Mann and Martel and becoming vice-president in 1961. He was president of TREB in 1980 and president of the Ontario Real Estate Association in 1986.

Maurice will be fondly remembered by many family and friends. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

  1. I am so sorry to read about Maurice passing. I found it years later, just by a coincidence, but felt the need to comment.
I worked with Maurice in Re/Max Urban and he was my favorite person to talk with. Loved his wisdom, patience and big kind smile. Was very knowledgeable in the field, while I still young and starting.
Maurice, I will always remember you and miss you. Your face is in front of me, as I remember us talking so many times in your office, just few doors from mine.
